Bathinda: Addressing a rally in Bathinda, Punjab, after laying the foundation stone of AIIMS today Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India was well within its rights to exercise its legitimate control on river waters that flow through India into Pakistan.

Referring to the Indus Waters Treaty, the Prime Minister said that the government was intent on providing enough water to the farmers of Punjab and steps were being taken in that direction.

“The fields of our farmers must have adequate water. Water that belongs to India cannot be allowed to go to Pakistan. Government will do everything to give enough water to our farmers,” Pm Modi said.

Shri Modi said that NDA Government does not only stop at laying foundation stones but completes all projects on time. “It is a priority for us that projects are completed on time or before time”, he added.

PM Modi recalled the horrific attack at a school in Peshawar that killed several students. “When school in Peshawar was attacked every Indian was sad. People of Pakistan should tell their rulers- lets fight corruption and fake notes”, he added further. Shri Modi also said that Pakistan knows fully what Indian Army is capable of.

Prime Minister Modi said that the Centre is committed to welfare of farmers. “Our Government will do everything to give enough water to our farmers”, said the PM.  He added that Centre is doing everything possible to ensure the middle class is not exploited and the poor get their due.

PM Modi noted inconvenience faced by people due to demonetisation and urged people to cooperate. He also urged people to use technology for making payments.
