4 Arrested in Maharashtra for Gang Rape of 15-Year-Old; Main Accused Still At Large

Dharashiv, 25th August. Four men were arrested on Sunday in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 15-year-old girl that occurred in Dharashiv, Maharashtra. The main suspect, Vijay Ghadge, remains at large, according to official sources.

The incident reportedly took place on Saturday afternoon as the teenager was en route to a grocery store. Ghadge, 25, who is known to the victim, invited her to his residence. At the time, four other men were present at the location.

The official account states that Ghadge was the first to assault the girl, followed by two of his accomplices. The victim confided in her family upon returning home, leading them to file a police report. The police have since apprehended the four men, all of whom are local farmers. A search for Ghadge is ongoing.

A case has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
