5000+ Yoga Enthusiasts Gather for 75-Day Countdown to International Day of Yoga 2024

Over 5000 enthusiastic yogis are gearing up to participate in the 75th day countdown event to International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2024, which will be held at the Wadia College Sports Ground in Pune, Maharashtra, on April 7, 2024. This grand celebration, organized by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga and the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, aims to highlight the holistic health and wellness approach of yoga.

The event will see active involvement from various sections of society, including Gram Pradhans, Anganwadi Workers, Asha Workers/Self Help Groups, Ayush Health & Wellness Centres, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), Women Welfare Organisations, School Children, and more. Distinguished dignitaries, yoga gurus, masters, experts in yoga and allied sciences, and heads of institutions will grace the occasion, emphasizing the significance of yoga for overall well-being.

The 75th day countdown event coincides with World Health Day on April 7, 2024, further underscoring the importance of yoga in promoting health and wellness. As part of the ongoing 100-day countdown to IDY 2024, the celebration aims to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga and encourage its practice among people worldwide.

The Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) will take center stage at the event, designed by experts to incorporate various yoga practices such as Pranayama and meditation for improving flexibility, strength, balance, and overall harmony. The Indian Yoga Association’s Maharashtra State Chapter is also extending its support to this event, further amplifying its reach and impact.

Ministry of Ayush, along with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, is organizing Mass Yoga Demonstrations/sessions as part of the ‘100 days, 100 cities, and 100 organizations’ campaign across the country. This initiative aims to promote the practice of yoga among people of all ages and backgrounds for their holistic health and well-being leading up to the 10th International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2024.
