889 Candidates to Contest Elections Across 8 States/UTs in Phase 6 of Lok Sabha Elections 2024

1978 Nomination Forms Filed for 57 PCs Across 7 States/UTs for Phase 6

 A total of 889 candidates from 8 States and Union Territories will contest in Phase 6 of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. This includes 20 candidates for the adjourned poll in the 3-Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary Constituency of Jammu and Kashmir.

For this phase, 1978 nomination forms were submitted for 57 Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) across the 7 States/UTs going to polls.

The last date for filing nominations for Phase 6 (excluding the adjourned poll in 3-Anantnag-Rajouri) was May 06, 2024.

After scrutinizing all nominations, 900 were found valid. In the 3-Anantnag-Rajouri constituency, a total of 28 nominations were filed in Phase 3, out of which 21 were valid.

In Phase 6, Uttar Pradesh received the highest number of nomination forms with 470 from 14 PCs, followed by Haryana with 370 nominations from 10 PCs.

The 8-Ranchi Parliamentary Constituency in Jharkhand saw the highest number of nominations with 70 forms filed, followed by 2-North East Delhi PC in NCT of Delhi with 69 nomination forms.

The average number of contesting candidates per PC in this phase is 15.
