95% Cases Registered by Central Probe Agencies Are Against Opposition Leaders: AAP

New Delhi, 10th Oct. The Aam Aadmi Party alleged on Tuesday that 95% of cases lodged by central investigative agencies CBI and ED are against opposition leaders, and that its MLA Amanatullah Khan is being raided by the ED in a case in which he was granted bail last year.
The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday raided Khan’s premises in Delhi as part of a money-laundering investigation against him and some others, official sources said.
In the Delhi Assembly, the 49-year-old legislator represents the Okhla constituency.
AAP leader Raghav Chadha declared at a press conference that the BJP was terrified of the INDIA coalition.
“I would like to say that agencies are silent in BJP-ruled states while in non-BJP states, they are violent. Almost 95 per cent of cases registered by CBI and ED are against opposition leaders from the INDIA alliance. Ever since the INDIA alliance has been formed, Congress, Shiv Sena, Trinamool Congress and other member parties’ leaders have been targeted. This is the fear of the alliance,” he said.
Asserting that BJP has “special affection” for the AAP, he said its leaders Satyendar Jain, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh were arrested in false cases where no trail of ill-gotten wealth was found.
“Today, they are conducting raids at MLA Amanatullah Khan’s residence. He was granted bail in the same case last year in September after being arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB). The court had reprimanded the ACB over the matter,” Chadha said, while reading the court order on the bail.
Also, Chadha on Tuesday approached the Delhi High Court challenging a trial court’s decision to vacate an interim order which stopped the Rajya Sabha secretariat from dispossessing him from the government bungalow allotted to him.
The plea was mentioned for urgent hearing before a bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Sanjeev Narula which agreed to list it on Wednesday.
“Ever since this issue has come up, I have been receiving a lot of love from the people across the country. First, I was suspended from the Rajya Sabha for being vocal against the BJP and then attempts are being made to take away the government accommodation. But I want to ask them, how will they oust me from the hearts of people?’” he said.
Chadha said he will continue to fight for his Rajya Sabha membership and for his government residence and “against the BJP’s tyranny”.
“I will not be silenced. I am a disciple of Bhagat Singh,” he said.
