Dibrugarh Express Train Derailment Disrupts Rail Services

At least 13 trains have been affected after 10 to 12 coaches of the Dibrugarh Express derailed in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district on Thursday.

The accident, which claimed four lives and left several others injured, has led to significant disruptions in rail services. Trains on the Lucknow-Gonda-Gorakhpur route are currently operating on diverted paths, and some services have been canceled.

The following trains have been rerouted due to the derailment:

  • 15707 Katihar-Amritsar Express, now running via Mankapur-Ayodhya-Barabanki
  • 15653 Guwahati-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express, now running via Mankapur-Ayodhya-Barabanki
  • 12598 Mumbai-Gorakhpur Antyodaya Express, now on a diverted route
  • 15204 Lucknow-Barauni Express, now on a diverted route
  • 12532 Lucknow-Gorakhpur Express, now on a diverted route
  • 15652 Jammu Tawi-Guwahati Lohit Express, now on a diverted route
  • 15910 Lalgarh-Dibrugarh Avadh Assam Express, now on a diverted route
  • 11123 Gwalior-Barauni Express, now on a diverted route
  • 02570 New Delhi-Darbhanga Express, now on a diverted route
  • 12566 New Delhi-Darbhanga Bihar Sampark Kranti Express, now on a diverted route
Accident Details and Response
The derailment occurred around 2:35 pm, involving the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak confirmed that four people were killed and 20 others injured in the accident.
The Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner, GS Naveen Kumar, reported that a 40-member medical team and 15 ambulances were deployed to the site, with additional resources being sent as needed.

Railway and local administration officials are at the scene managing the rescue operations.
