New Delhi, 29th July. Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena met the protesters demanding accountability and action in deaths of three IAS aspirants. The students are demonstrating outside the civil services coaching centre in Old Rajinder Nagar, where the fatalities occurred due to basement flooding caused by heavy rain.

On Monday, Saxena met with the protesters and assured them of stern measures against those responsible. The tragic incident, which saw three students lose their lives when the basement of the coaching centre was inundated, has sparked widespread outrage. The deceased were identified as Shreya Yadav from Ambedkar Nagar (UP), Tanya Soni from Telangana, and Nivin Dalwin from Ernakulam, Kerala.

In response to the crisis, civic authorities began demolishing illegal structures and removing encroachments that have been blocking drains and contributing to waterlogging in the area. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has also sealed 13 IAS coaching centres, including notable names like Guidance IAS, Easy for IAS, and Topper’s Academy.

Saxena, while meeting the protesters, emphasized that the incident reflects a broader issue of misgovernance and vowed that necessary actions will be taken. The Delhi LG slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, stating that the incident underscores systemic failures in governance over the past decade.
