JMM Slams Centre Over Jharkhand Train Accident, Demands Focus on Railway Safety

GG News Bureau
Ranchi, 30th July. The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Tuesday slammed the central government and Railway Minister for the recent train accident in Jharkhand. The party took a swipe at the BJP and the Centre, saying that Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the INDIA bloc were not involved.

In a social media post, JMM urged the central government to demand that the Railway Minister stop focusing on social media reels and prioritize railway safety instead. The party dismissed any allegations linking Soren or the INDIA bloc to the accident, asserting that such claims were baseless.

The accident, which occurred early on Tuesday, involved the derailment of at least 18 coaches of the Howrah-Mumbai Mail train in Seraikela-Kharsawan district. Officials confirmed that two people were killed and 20 others were injured in the incident, which took place around 3:45 AM near Barabamboo, approximately 80 km from Jamshedpur.

According to South Eastern Railway (SER) spokesperson Om Prakash Charan, there was also a nearby derailment of a goods train, but it remains unclear if the two accidents happened simultaneously. The Howrah-Mumbai Mail train reportedly collided with the stationary goods train.

West Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Chaudhary, who is at the accident site, confirmed that rescue operations are underway with an NDRF team en route. He noted that the accident site lies near the border of West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts.
