Vietnamese PM Pham Minh Chinh Begins 3-Day Visit to India

New Delhi, 31st July. Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday night for a three-day visit aimed at enhancing strategic ties between Vietnam and India. He was welcomed at the airport by Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal praised the visit, highlighting the deep civilizational links and longstanding friendship between the two nations. “Warm welcome to PM Phám Minh Chinh of Vietnam as he arrives in New Delhi on a State Visit,” Jaiswal stated on ‘X’.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasized that Vietnam is a crucial pillar of India’s Act East Policy and a significant partner in its Indo-Pacific vision. Prime Minister Chinh is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including several ministers, deputy ministers, and business leaders.

On August 1, Prime Minister Chinh will receive a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and visit Rajghat to pay respects to Mahatma Gandhi. He is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and meet President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is also expected to meet with Chinh.

The visit is expected to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established during the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Vietnam in September 2016.
