Rashtriya Hindi Vigyan Sammelan 2024: Promoting Scientific Research in Hindi Language

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute (CSIR-AMPRI), Bhopal, in collaboration with Vijnana Bharati Madhya Bharat Province, Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University, CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR), and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University, organized the “Rashtriya Hindi Vigyan Sammelan 2024” on July 30-31.

This fourth edition of the conference aimed to promote scientific research and communication in Hindi.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, who highlighted the role of advancing science and knowledge in regional languages.

“We can become a VishwaGuru only through knowledge and science in our own language,” said Dr. Yadav, expressing aspirations for the conference to evolve into an international event.

Avanish Kumar Srivastava, Director of CSIR-AMPRI, emphasized the importance of encouraging science and technology research in Hindi and urged the scientific community to contribute actively.

Prof. Venugopal Achanta, Director of CSIR-National Physical Laboratory and Acting Director of CSIR-NIScPR, stressed the significance of using Hindi for science communication.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to science through Hindi literature, Shri Santosh Chaubey, Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore University, was honored with the Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray Vigyan Samvardhan Samman.

A notable feature of the conference was the Vigyan Kavi Goshti, a science poetry seminar held on July 30, 2024.

Inaugurated by Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture, Tourism, Religious Trusts, and Endowments, the seminar provided a platform for poets and science communicators to promote science through Hindi poetry, featuring 12 distinguished science poets.

The valedictory session on July 31 was attended by Rajendra Shukla, Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

During the session, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between various universities and CSIR-AMPRI.

The conference included six sessions covering topics in Science, Technology, Engineering, Ayurveda, and Science Communication.
