Thane, 8th August.
Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan has announced his ambitious goal to elevate the state’s economy to surpass that of Japan and Germany. Speaking at the launch of “Yoddha Karmayogi – Eknath Sambhaji Shinde,” a biography of Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, Radhakrishnan emphasized his commitment to ensuring that the economic growth benefits even the most remote villages in the state.

Radhakrishnan underscored Maharashtra’s critical role in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (developed India) by 2047. He expressed confidence in CM Shinde’s leadership to transform Maharashtra into a trillion-dollar economy with inclusive development.

“A day will come by 2047 when India will be the richest nation in the world. At that time, our Maharashtra state economy should be larger than the second largest economy in the world. That should be our aim, and we all should work towards it,” the governor stated. “I will work with you to the extent that Maharashtra’s economy becomes larger than the second largest economy, larger than Japan, larger than Germany individually.”

Radhakrishnan stressed the importance of ensuring that the wealth generated reaches “the remotest, isolated village of Maharashtra.” He praised CM Shinde’s hard work and determination, comparing his career trajectory to that of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, both having transformed from low-profile individuals to charismatic leaders. The governor urged the youth to draw inspiration from Shinde’s example.

In his address, Radhakrishnan also lauded prominent personalities from Maharashtra, including Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, whom he described as a youth icon and champion of local rights. Additionally, he paid rich tributes to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, noting that he continues to follow Vajpayee’s teachings.
