“The Delhi Lakshmi Yojana has been approved by the Cabinet, and the portal for this will be launched on August 1,” Gupta said.

The Chief Minister said the government aims to release the first instalment before Raksha Bandhan, subject to the completion of the verification process for eligible applicants.

Under the proposed guidelines, applicants will be required to submit a self-declaration confirming that they have been residents of Delhi for at least 10 years and that they have no criminal record.

The verification process will begin after applications are submitted through the portal. The government said financial assistance will be disbursed only after successful verification of eligibility.
