Piyush Goyal Arrives in US for G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting

Washington, 30th Sept: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal arrived in Milwaukee, United States, to attend the G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said on Wednesday.
Goyal was received upon arrival by Dr. M. Anand Prakash, Consul General of India at the Consulate General of India, Chicago.
During his visit, Goyal interacted with CEOs and senior executives of prominent US manufacturing and technology companies at a business roundtable hosted by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
The NAM represents a substantial share of leading US manufacturing companies and contributes significantly to the US manufacturing sector, which has a GDP of around $3 trillion, according to the ministry.
At the roundtable, Goyal highlighted the expanding scope of India-US economic relations, saying the partnership is moving beyond a traditional trade relationship.
He said the relationship increasingly encompasses investment, manufacturing, technology, innovation, resilient supply chains and the creation of high-value capabilities in both countries.
US business leaders shared their views on opportunities emerging in India and discussed their companies’ perspectives on expanding partnerships in the country.
Goyal said the Government of India was ready to facilitate companies in their operations, expansion and investments in India.
The Commerce Minister also attended a reception hosted by the Business Roundtable (BRT) and NAM at the global headquarters of Rockwell Automation.
During the reception, Goyal interacted with Trade Ministers from other G20 countries as well as senior business leaders from US companies.
The G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting is part of Goyal’s engagements aimed at strengthening economic and commercial ties with international partners and promoting opportunities for investment, manufacturing and technology cooperation.
