New Delhi, 1st Oct: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday paid floral tributes to former Lok Sabha Speaker G.M.C. Balayogi on his birth anniversary at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan.
Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Harivansh, Members of Parliament, former Members of Parliament and other dignitaries also paid tributes at Balayogi’s portrait.
Lok Sabha Secretary-General Utpal Kumar Singh and Rajya Sabha Secretary-General P.C. Mody were also present and paid their respects.
Balayogi served as Speaker of the 12th Lok Sabha and was subsequently re-elected Speaker of the 13th Lok Sabha.
His portrait, painted by artist Him Chatterjee, is placed in the Outer Lobby of Samvidhan Sadan. It was unveiled by the then President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, on February 10, 2014.
