New Delhi, 2nd Oct: Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri C. R. Patil on Thursday directed senior officials to strengthen cleanliness, improve work efficiency and ensure the time-bound disposal of pending files across offices of the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State Shri V. Somanna, secretaries of the two departments and senior ministry officials.
Patil directed that a special cleanliness campaign be undertaken from the ministry headquarters to regional offices. He called for micro-level cleaning of entrances, workspaces, common areas, drinking-water facilities and toilets, while ensuring that essential facilities remain functional.
Officials were also directed to ensure the timely disposal of unused materials and scrap. Each officer was asked to review pending files and prioritise their early disposal.
The minister further called for systematic documentation of practical challenges faced during official work and suggestions for improving processes.
He said the ministry’s efforts should reflect the focus on reforms, cleanliness and accountability in governance. The objective, he said, is to create clean, organised and efficient workplaces while making the ministry’s functioning more effective, accountable and results-oriented.
