Dumka, 1st Nov: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has questioned Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his foreign visits, claiming that he travelled abroad 270 times in the past 10 years. Dubey also raised questions about Gandhi’s meetings with US lawmakers and alleged that foreign networks were attempting to influence political developments in India.
Speaking to reporters in Dumka, Jharkhand, Dubey questioned why Gandhi travelled abroad so frequently and whom he met during these visits. He referred to Gandhi’s interactions with US lawmakers Ilhan Omar and Ro Khanna and alleged that some of these contacts had links to organisations associated with George Soros.
The BJP MP asked whether Gandhi’s political activities and participation in protests were influenced by foreign interests. These were allegations made by Dubey and were not independently established in the statements reported.
Raises Questions Over Foreign Contacts
Dubey referred to Gandhi’s meetings with American lawmakers and questioned the purpose behind these interactions. He also mentioned businessman Neville Roy Singham and alleged that networks linked to artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency and online gambling were attempting to influence political movements across countries.
He further questioned whether Congress leader Sam Pitroda had any role in the alleged network. Dubey called for scrutiny of such activities, claiming that foreign-backed groups could undermine democratic institutions.
Raises Demographic Change in Santhal Pargana
The BJP MP also raised the issue of alleged demographic changes and infiltration in the Santhal Pargana region of Jharkhand.
Referring to population figures between 1951 and 2011, he claimed that the tribal population’s share had declined from around 45 per cent to 26–27 per cent, while the Muslim population had increased from seven per cent to 25 per cent.
Dubey attributed the alleged demographic shift partly to infiltration from Bangladesh. These figures and the claims surrounding their causes require independent verification.
Questions Opposition Over Voter List Revision
Dubey criticised the Opposition’s position on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and supported the Election Commission’s efforts to ensure the accuracy of voter lists.
He alleged that attempts to remove duplicate and questionable entries were being opposed for political reasons. According to him, maintaining accurate electoral rolls is essential for strengthening democratic processes.
Says People Have the Right to Change Governments
Dubey also referred to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s tenure, arguing that changing a government is the democratic right of citizens.
He said elections provide voters with the opportunity to express their choices and determine the country’s political direction. He also alleged that recent protests in Delhi were causing difficulties for ordinary residents, traders and transport workers.
The remarks add to the ongoing political confrontation between the BJP and Congress over foreign visits, opposition protests, electoral roll revision and allegations of external influence.
Editorial note: The claims about foreign influence, the number of foreign visits and demographic changes are attributed to Dubey and should not be presented as independently verified facts.
