Five Bajrang Dal activists have been arrested for allegedly attacking a halal meat vendor in Bhadravathi, a day after Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai promised to look into objections to halal meat.

The activists from the Bajrang Dal demanded that all halal meat vendors stop selling halal meat.

“Activists from the Bajrang Dal argued and then attacked a Muslim vendor. An FIR has been filed at Bhadravati’s Hosamane police station “According to Shivamogga SP. According to the complaint, some Bajrang Dal activists threatened halal meat vendor Tausif, who reported vandalism to the police. He claimed that Bajrang Dal activists thrashed him after he refused to serve non-halal meat. According to reports, the vendor asked the activists to give him some time to find non-halal chicken.

In a separate incident in the Shivamogga district, the same Bajrang Dal activists were arrested for threatening a hotelier.

“Following a complaint, cops launched an investigation and interrogated five right-wing activists,” police said. CM Basavaraj Bommai stated on Wednesday that his government will investigate the halal meat issue. “The halal debate has only just begun. We’ll have to look into it.
It’s a thing that people do. Serious concerns have now been raised about it. I’ll investigate… “As far as my government is concerned, we are neither right nor left, but only growth wing,” he explained.
