Udaipur, 13th May. Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday kept on slamming the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre and said that the BJP wants to keep people in a “perpetual state of frenzy” by provoking and instigating”.

Further attacking PM Modi for his slogan ‘Maximum governance, minimum government’, Gandhi said that BJP is viciously targeting and brutalising the minorities of the country.

The comments of Sonia Gandhi came during a three-day ‘Nav Sankalp Chintan Shivir’ in Rajasthan’s Udaipur.

Speaking further at the shivir, Gandhi urged members of the party to combat BJP’s divisiveness.

She said, “Most Indians want to live in an atmosphere of peace, amity and harmony. BJP, its cohorts and surrogates want to keep people in a perpetual state of frenzy. They constantly provoke, instigate, and inflame.”

“We’ve to combat this virus of divisiveness that’s being maliciously spread,” she said.

Before the commencement of the Chintan Shivir, it was very clear that the event would focus on discussions over ‘communal polarization’, farmers’ issues and strengthening the party for the upcoming polls.

But as far as Sonia Gandhi’s address is concerned, it was more about attacking BJP and less about focusing on ways to boost the Congress party. It seems like Congress still hasn’t learnt the lesson from the recently concluded assembly polls results. Congress should know that the agenda to strengthen their party is to focus on how to boost their party strength rather than efforts to degrade BJP or any other opposition party.
