The Adani Group, owned by billionaire Gautam Adani, has stated that it has no direct or indirect role in the construction of the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand.

The tunnel collapsed over two weeks ago, trapping 41 construction workers inside.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Adani Group clarified that the conglomerate does not own or hold any shares in the company responsible for the tunnel’s construction. They emphasized that the Adani Group has no involvement whatsoever in the construction of the tunnel.

The trapped workers have been stuck 260 meters inside the Silkyara-Barkot tunnel since November 12, when a section of the tunnel collapsed due to a landslide. The tunnel is part of the Char Dham all-weather accessibility project and is being constructed by Navayuga Engineering Company Limited, based in Hyderabad.

The Adani Group strongly condemned any attempts to link their name to the collapse, stating that their thoughts and prayers are with the trapped workers and their families.
