Agnipath Scheme Kicks Off Recruitment Process for ‘Agniveers’ for Army, Navy

New Delhi, 2nd July. The Indian Army and Navy have begun registration for Agniveer recruitment under the Agnipath scheme, according to the Defence Ministry. Agniveers will be recruited for four years in the Army, Navy, and Air Force under the scheme.

Based on merit, willingness, and medical fitness, up to 25% of them could be retained or re-enlisted in the regular cadre after four years.

The remaining 75% will be eligible for ‘Seva Nidhi’ packages ranging from 11 to 12 lakh rupees.

They will also be given skill certificates and bank loans to help them start a second career.

The recruitment will begin in 90 days, and beneficiaries will be eligible for awards, medals, and insurance. Soldiers will be paid a monthly salary of around 30 to 40 thousand rupees for the first four years.
