New Delhi, 8th Sept. Ahead of the G20 Summit in Delhi, Congress leader Pawan Khera claimed that Delhi BJP leader Vijay Goel displayed a billboard showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other global leaders ranked by popularity.

The BJP responded to Khera’s claims by saying that the billboard was out of date and accused the Congress leader of spreading “misinformation.”

This comes just a day before the G20 summit, which will be held on September 9-10 in the national capital. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, congress leader Pawan Khera said, “Is this how we welcome our guests?”

The BJP’s Vijay Goel called the Congress leader’s claims “fake news” and rejected them. He said that no such billboard was put up and that the Congress party should “refrain from such petty politics at a time when India is hosting the world.”

In charge of the BJP’s Information Technology Cell Amit Malaviya further stated that this poster was not new, accusing the Congress party of using an old image to undermine Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre.

A new study done by the US-based worldwide leader approval tracker ‘Morning Consult’ revealed that Prime Minister Modi is the world’s most popular leader, with an astonishing 78% approval rating among India’s adult population. The survey, which included 22 leaders, ranked PM Modi first. Following closely behind, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador took second place, with Swiss President Alain Berset taking third.

Also, US President Joe Biden and Canada’s Justin Trudeau each got a 40 percent approval rating, placing them eighth and ninth, respectively.
