Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor Assumes Role of AOC-in-C Training Command

Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor took charge as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of Training Command (TC) on May 1, 2024.

Commissioned into the Fighter stream of the Indian Air Force on December 6, 1986, Air Marshal Kapoor is a distinguished alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College, and National Defence College. As a Qualified Flying Instructor and Fighter Combat Leader, he brings with him over 3400 hours of flying experience.

Throughout his esteemed career, Air Marshal Kapoor has held various field and staff appointments, demonstrating exceptional leadership and operational expertise. His roles have included Commanding Officer of a fighter squadron, Station Commander of a flying base, and Air Officer Commanding of a premier air base. Additionally, he has served as Chief Instructor (Flying) at Air Force Academy and as Directing Staff at the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington.

Notably, Air Marshal Kapoor played a pivotal role in the induction and operationalization of PC-7 MK II aircraft in the IAF during his tenure at the Air Force Academy. He has also served in a diplomatic capacity as Defence Attaché in Pakistan.

In recognition of his outstanding service, Air Marshal Kapoor has been honored with the Vayu Sena Medal in 2008 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022.
