Ajit Doval Calls For Global Action Against Misuse of Communication Tech by Terrorists

 Addressing concerns over the misuse of information and communication technologies by terrorists and criminals, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval affirmed India’s commitment to combat such threats through international cooperation.

Speaking at a program in St. Petersburg focused on ensuring information security, Doval highlighted India’s policy regarding the inclusive use of digital technology for inclusive economic development.

Emphasizing the need for India to address the misuse of information and communication technologies by terrorists and criminals, Doval stressed the importance of preventing terrorist financing alongside combating the misuse of such technologies.

He asserted that a joint agreement on cybercrime at the international level would be a significant step forward in this context.

Calling for international cooperation to ensure information security through an open, stable, secure, reliable, and inclusive framework, Doval urged stakeholders from governments to the private sector, academia, technical communities, and civil society to participate in such endeavors.

He emphasized the importance of developing common understanding on critical issues through regular institutionalized dialogue.
