Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, 12th May. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, criticized Congressman Mani Shankar Aiyar’s comments about “respecting Pakistan” once more on Sunday.

Speaking at an election rally in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, Shah declared that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is still a part of India and that the country is not afraid of nuclear weapons.

Mani Shankar Aiyar is the counselor to Gandhi’s son, Rahul Baba. Respect Pakistan; don’t bring up the PoK, he said. Why don’t we do that? At the gathering, Shah stated, “He answered because they have an atomic bomb.” “…I want to ask you, if Pakistan has atom bombs, should we leave PoK? I promise you today, we don’t get scared of atom bombs. PoK belongs to India, and no one can take it away from us…”

Prior to this, Shah had also attacked Congressman Rahul Gandhi for Shankar’s comments made during a Pratapgarh election rally endorsing the BJP candidate for the Lok Sabha seat from Kaushambi (SC).

Gandhi might be afraid of an “atom bomb,” he continued, but the BJP is not. Shah was cited by PTI as adding, “Rahul baba, if you want to be scared of the atom bomb, then be scared, we are not scared.” “Pakistan-occupied Kashmir belongs to India, and we will take it.”

What was said by Mani Shankar Aiyyar?

In an April 15 interview with the YouTube channel Chill Pill, Aiyar stated that since Pakistan has an atomic weapon, India should communicate with it.

“India should give respect to Pakistan as it has an atom bomb. If we don’t give them respect, they will think of using an atomic bomb against India,” he said.

The BJP criticized Aiyar’s comments, accusing the Congress of turning into an advocate of Pakistan and violence emanating from Pakistan.

Regarding Aiyar’s statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also stated that people are aware that Pakistan’s nuclear bomb is of low grade and that the Congress merely uses the danger of nuclear war to instill fear and psychosis in the minds of people.

Party spokesperson Pawan Khera, however, dissociated the Congress from Aiyar’s remarks, stating, “INC and indeed the entire nation recalls with pride that in December 1971 Pakistan was broken and Bangladesh emerged thanks to Indira Gandhi’s decisive and determined leadership and the valour of our armed forces.”
