Animal Fat in Tirupati Laddus a ‘Grave Insult’ to Hindus: VHP’s Milind Parande

Jaipur, 21st Sept. Milind Parande, national organizational general secretary of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), termed the alleged use of animal fat in the laddus of the Tirupati temple as a “grave insult” to Hindu faith on Saturday. His comments come in response to claims made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu regarding the use of animal fat during the previous government, sparking significant political controversy.

Parande asserted that government control over temple trusts and the inclusion of individuals from other faiths in temple management contributed to such incidents. “This is a grave insult to the Hindu faith,” he emphasized, calling for Hindu society to reclaim control over its temples.

The political fallout intensified as Naidu’s allegations prompted the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) to accuse him of making unfounded claims for political gain. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has countered with a lab report to substantiate their position.

Parande further criticized the double standards in government oversight, pointing out that only Hindu temples are subjected to such control, while churches and mosques remain unaffected. He demanded that temple management involve participation from all sections of society, emphasizing the need for temples to serve as centers for religion and social service.

In discussing broader issues, Parande condemned “appeasement” politics and called for a central law to combat religious conversion. He also voiced support for the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, which aims to amend laws governing Waqf boards, asserting that such changes align with national interests.

Regarding recent violence against Hindu religious processions, including during the Ganapati festival, Parande advocated for stringent actions against what he described as a “violent jihadist mindset.” He suggested implementing drone surveillance to enhance the safety of participants in these events.

Additionally, Parande announced that the Bajrang Dal, VHP’s youth wing, will hold a national-level meeting in Jaipur on September 21-22, focusing on strategies to combat forced conversions and “love jihad” attacks on Hindus. He noted that over a hundred key workers from various states are expected to participate.

In a separate initiative, the Bajrang Dal plans to organize a “Run for Health” marathon campaign from November 23-30 to raise awareness against drug abuse, with over seven thousand events planned to engage youth in discussions on drug de-addiction.
