Indore, 14th Sept. Indore police arrested an Army Naik on charges of raping a married woman. Naik, who has denied the allegations, was taken into custody from a luxury hotel in the MIG area by a team from Indore Mahila Thana.
According to police reports, the woman, whose husband is a bank employee in Indore, filed a complaint accusing the Naik of rape. After her complaint, the police conducted a raid on the hotel and arrested the suspect. Indore Mahila Thana in-charge Kaushalya Chauhan confirmed the arrest and provided details of the investigation.
Initial findings indicate that the accused, who is from eastern Uttar Pradesh and was posted in Mhow cantonment town of Indore last year, had befriended the woman after providing her with an army canteen card.
The woman alleged that Naik had a video of her, which he used to coerce her into a physical relationship.
She claimed that he invited her to the hotel on Friday, where he sexually assaulted her and attempted to insert a glass into her private parts, according to a Mahila Thana officer.
The accused, however, has denied the allegations, asserting that their interactions were consensual. The investigation is ongoing, with further details yet to be disclosed.
