Assembly Elections: Congress Releases 1st List of Candidates for Chhattisgarh, MP, Telangana

New Delhi, 15th Oct. The Congress has announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.

The party has announced 144 candidates for Madhya Pradesh, 30 candidates for Chhattisgarh, and 55 candidates for Telangana.

In Madhya Pradesh, former Chief Minister and PCC Chief Kamal Nath will be contesting from his Chhindwara assembly constituency. Jaivardhan Singh, son of former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, will be running for the Raghogarh seat. He previously served as a minister in the Kamal Nath government.

Vijay Laxmi Sadho, a former minister and Rajya Sabha member, will be contesting from the Maheshwar-SC assembly seat. Jitu Patwari, a former cabinet minister, will be running for the Rau assembly constituency.

 

In Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will be contesting from his Patan assembly constituency, while Deputy Chief Minister T S Singh Deo will be running for the Ambikapur assembly seat. Tamradhwaj Sahu, a senior minister, will be contesting from the Durg Rural assembly seat, and Chhattisgarh assembly Speaker Charan Das Mahant will be running for the Sakti assembly seat.

Deepak Baij, the Pradesh Congress chief, will be contesting from the Chitrakot-ST assembly seat. He is currently the sitting Lok Sabha MP from Bastar. Mohan Markam, a former PCC chief and current minister, will be running for the Kondagaon-ST assembly seat, which he previously represented.

 

 

In Telangana, Pradesh Congress chief Anumala Revanth Reddy will be contesting from the Kodangal assembly seat, while CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu will be running for the Madhira-SC seat. Revanth Reddy is currently the sitting Lok Sabha MP from Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency.

The party has also fielded N Uttam Kumar Reddy, the sitting Lok Sabha MP from Nalgonda, for the Huzurnagar assembly constituency. Additionally, Kota Neelima, wife of national spokesperson Pawan Khera, will be running for the Sanathnagar assembly seat.

The Chhattisgarh assembly polls will be held in two phases on November 7 and 17, while the Madhya Pradesh elections will take place on November 17.

The Telangana assembly polls are scheduled for November 30, with the results being declared on December 3.
