Bharat Biotech Sends Data to DCGI, Children’s Corona Vaccine May be Approved Soon

New Delhi, 3^rd Oct. Till now, only people above 18 years of age are being administered with corona vaccine in the country. Everyone is waiting for the children’s corona vaccine. Children’s corona vaccine may be approved very soon. In fact, Bharat Biotech has sent test data for the corona vaccine for children in the age group of 2-18 years to DCGI on Saturday.

Bharat Biotech Managing Director Dr. Krishna Ella said that in the month of September, Phase-2 and Phase-3 trials of children’s corona vaccine were completed and now the trial data has been submitted for approval of DCGI. Now, it is being speculated that the final approval from the World Health Organization for Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin can be received by the end of this month. Dr. Krishna Ella said that the company has handed over all the data attached to the vaccine to WHO. Another vaccine of Bharat Biotech has been approved. Zydus Cadila’s corona vaccine ZyCoV-D has been approved for use in children above 12 years of age in India.
