Bihar CM Nitish Condoles Murder of Mukesh Sahani’s Father, Orders Probe

The Chief Minister termed the incident as deeply saddening and prayed for peace for the departed soul while offering strength to the grieving family during this difficult time.

Jitan Sahani was found dead with multiple stab wounds at his ancestral home in Biraul, Darbhanga, on Tuesday morning, prompting widespread shock and condemnation.

In response to the heinous crime, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar directed the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) to initiate a thorough investigation and ensure swift justice against the perpetrators.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted by Darbhanga Police to oversee the case, with senior officers actively leading the investigation at the crime scene. Forensic experts from the state’s Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) have also been deployed to collect crucial evidence.

“Bihar CM Nitish Kumar expressed deep condolences on the untimely demise of Jitan Sahani, father of former minister Mukesh Sahani. The CM has instructed for a comprehensive investigation into the matter,” stated an official release from the Chief Minister’s Office.

Darbhanga’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jagunath Reddy, assured that the police are fully committed to resolving the case swiftly and ensuring justice for the victim.

 “A team of senior officers is currently on-site and actively investigating the matter,” SSP Reddy affirmed.

The tragic incident has sparked widespread outrage in Bihar, with demands for swift action against those responsible for the brutal killing of Jitan Sahani.
