Bihar: CM Nitish Kumar Calls for High Level Meeting Regarding Liquor Ban on Nov 16

Bihar, 9th Nov. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has called a high-level meeting to further consider the prohibition of liquor in the state since 2016.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting on Saturday. Earlier, he had warned of strict action against those involved in the sale and consumption of liquor in Bihar. Recently many people died in Bihar because of consuming poisonous liquor.

“It is for the people to decide. If you indulge in such activities, the results are in front of you. We will take action. Some people are doing shoddy work by making spurious liquor. The raids are going on and I will review the entire scenario after the Chhath festival,” he said regarding the ban on liquor.

In the last few days, at least 20 people have died after consuming poisonous liquor. An Army jawan and a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan are also among the victims in this incident.
