“BJP is No More a Party, But a Cult Adoring Modi,”: P Chidambaram

New Delhi, 21st April. The BJP-led NDA government came under fire on Sunday from P Chidambaram, a former finance minister and prominent Congressman, who claimed that the saffron party had evolved into a cult that worshiped Prime Minister Narendra Modi rather than a political organization.
In an attack on the Modi administration, Chidambaram demanded that the people “restore democracy” and said that during the ten years of Modi rule, there has been a “grave erosion” of the right to free speech and expression. PTI reported.
He further pledged that whenever the INDIA alliance takes power, the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which was not included in the Congress manifesto, would be abolished. Chidambaram also voiced optimism for the INDIA bloc’s victory in Pondicherry, where the polls were held, and all 39 of Tamil Nadu’s seats.
“The manifesto, which is not called a manifesto, was created by the BJP in 14 days. It was referred to as Modi’s assurance. The BJP is not a political organization anymore. Chidambaram stated, “It has turned into a cult, and the cult worships Narendra Modi,” according to PTI.
He asserted that “Modi ki guarantee” brings to mind the nations where cult worship was practiced.
“That cult worship in India has started gaining strength and will lead to dictatorship,” he stated. He claimed that the ten-year Modi regime has resulted in a flagrant restriction of the right to free speech.
“Modi may change the constitution if he is elected to office a third time. We must bring democracy back,” Chidambaram declared.
He claimed that unemployment was the nation’s biggest problem.
Chidambaram went on to say that the CPI(M) has been mute on issues like job creation and wealth building that are covered in the Congress agenda.
“CAA will be repealed in the first session of the Parliament when the INDIA bloc comes to power,” Chidambaram stated.
