A BJP leader, G Devaraje Gowda, who was recently arrested, alleged on Friday that Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar offered him ₹100 crore to tarnish the reputations of former Chief Minister and JDS state President HD Kumaraswamy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking to reporters from the police vehicle after being sent to judicial custody, Devaraje Gowda claimed that Shivakumar even sent him ₹5 crore as an advance payment.

“After I rejected the offer, police cases were filed against me, and I was arrested. I am prepared to expose him (DK Shivakumar) once I am released. The Congress government in Karnataka is on the verge of collapse,” he asserted. Devaraje Gowda further stated, “I was instructed to make a statement implicating HD Kumaraswamy in circulating pen drives containing sex videos involving Kumaraswamy’s nephew Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of former PM HD Deve Gowda. However, it was DK Shivakumar who obtained the pen drive from Karthik Gowda, a driver for Prajwal Revanna, and orchestrated the entire incident.”

According to Devaraje Gowda, a team of four ministers, including N Cheluvarayaswamy, Krishna Byre Gowda, and Priyank Kharge, was assembled to manage the developments related to the sex video scandal. “They had meticulously planned to defame Prime Minister Modi, HD Kumaraswamy, and the BJP. They offered me ₹100 crore and sent ₹5 crore as an advance to Room No. 110 at Bowring Club. A local leader from Channarayapatna, Gopalaswamy, was sent to negotiate the deal,” he alleged.

“DK Shivakumar made the ₹100 crore offer to tarnish Prime Minister Modi’s reputation by associating him with the sex scandal. Shivakumar’s primary goal is to politically sideline Kumaraswamy,” he added.

“When I refused to participate in their schemes, they initially implicated me in an atrocity case but failed to find any evidence. Subsequently, they framed me in a sexual harassment case. When this tactic also failed, they accused me of rape. I was interrogated for four days, but they couldn’t extract anything from me,” he claimed. “I possess audio recordings of Shivakumar’s conversations. I will release them, and the Congress government will collapse once I am released,” Devaraje Gowda asserted as the police vehicle departed.

On May 6, Devaraje Gowda alleged that Shivakumar was responsible for the dissemination of the pen drive containing videos of sexual assault.

He also asserted that Prime Minister Modi was the Congress’ primary target.

“I lack confidence in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the sex scandal. I will provide all evidence to the CBI. The videos in my possession differ from those that have been released,” he asserted. Devaraje Gowda was apprehended by the Karnataka police six days ago in connection with a sexual harassment and atrocity case.
