Hyderabad, 22nd April.
Kompella Madhavi Latha, the BJP candidate from the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, dismissed the complaint against her for making a controversial arrow gesture towards a mosque. She questioned why she would participate in a procession during the holy month of Ramzan and personally distribute food if she was against Muslims.

Madhavi Latha stated, “It’s absurd. Why would I join the Hazrat Ali Saab ka Juloos during Ramzan and feed many people if I was against Muslims? The reason people are attacking me on social media is because they are afraid since my appearance on Rajat Sharma’s Aap Ki Adalat.”

A video surfaced showing Madhavi Latha making a gesture as if shooting an arrow towards a mosque during a festival where the mosque was covered to prevent tensions.

A complaint was filed against Madhavi Latha by a resident of First Lancer, Hyderabad, named Shaik Imran. In response, Madhavi Latha explained that the video was manipulated and misrepresented to create false allegations against her.

Imran lodged a complaint with the Begum Bazar Police Station and reported the matter to the Election Commission.

Madhavi Latha later released a statement clarifying that the video was incomplete and apologized if anyone was offended by it. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticized her gesture, claiming it was aimed at disrupting peace in the city.

Asaduddin Owaisi urged voters to prioritize maintaining peace and harmony between Hindus and Muslims in Hyderabad. The Lok Sabha elections for the Hyderabad constituency are scheduled for May 13, with the results to be announced on May 4.

Asaduddin Owaisi has been a prominent figure in Hyderabad politics, serving multiple terms as the elected representative. The Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency consists of seven assembly segments, most of which are currently held by the AIMIM.

Since 1984, candidates supported by the Asaduddin Owaisi family have been successful in the Hyderabad constituency, with Asaduddin Owaisi currently representing the seat in the Lok Sabha.
