Raipur, 24th Oct. The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chhattisgarh has taken a dig at the Congress party over corruption in the upcoming state elections.

They posted a cartoon on social media depicting Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel as the demon king Ravana, suggesting that the “Ravan of corruption” will be defeated this time.

Baghel responded by saying that it has been a tradition of former Chief Minister Raman Singh and his party to abuse the backward classes, tribals, and Dalits.

The state assembly elections in Congress-ruled Chhattisgarh will take place next month.

The cartoon portrays Baghel as Ravan with 10 heads, each representing various alleged scams and offenses. He is also shown holding a weapon with “corruption” written on it. The illustration includes a man representing the people of Chhattisgarh shooting an arrow at Ravan and expressing the desire for change.

Baghel criticized the BJP for portraying backward people as Ravan and killing them.

He urged people to celebrate the festival of Vijayadashami happily and emphasized that his focus is on addressing issues such as illiteracy, malnutrition, farmer distress, and Naxalism.

The assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 7 and 17, with a total of 223 candidates in the fray for the first phase.

The BJP has announced candidates in 86 out of the 90 seats, while the Congress has declared candidates in all 90 seats.
