Black Fungus in Punjab, Black Fungus Cases Reported in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, 14th May. More than twelve people have been affected by black fungus in Ludhiana of Punjab. Most of the victims are undergoing treatment at Dayanand Medical College.

In five patients, black fungus has reached the brain of the patients. A case of black fungus has just come up at Ludhiana’s Doctor Ramesh Super Specialty Eye & Laser Center; he has been referred to PGI due to the serious condition of the patient.

Manish Munjal, head doctor of DMC’s ENT department, said that during the last one month there have been ten cases of black fungus. On May 13, four patients came who had black fungus in their eyes, nose and sinuses. The operation cannot be done right now due to their lung damage. Five cases had come to the eye department, which had to be operated upon to remove the eye. There have been about four such cases in the Neuro Department as well. So far all the people who have got black fungus, they have all been corona patients.
