New Delhi, 28th Oct. The Lok Sabha Ethics Committee on Saturday asked Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra to appear before them on November 2nd instead of October 31st in the cash-for-query case. They have made it clear that no further extensions will be granted.

Moitra had previously informed the committee that she would not be able to attend on October 31st and would only be available after November 5th.

In response, the committee has extended the date by three days and asked her to appear on November 2nd. However, they have stated that they will not consider any requests for additional extensions.

The committee is investigating allegations made by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey that Moitra accepted bribes and favors in exchange for asking questions in the Lok Sabha on behalf of businessman Hiranandani.

Dubey and advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai have already provided oral evidence against Moitra.

Moitra has requested a fair hearing and the opportunity to defend herself against the false and defamatory accusations made by Dubey and Dehadrai.
