Raipur, 11th Nov. Chhattisgarh Governor Anusuiya Uikey has signed a revised notification for the recruitment of local youth to the divisional level posts of Bastar and Surguja region. With the implementation of this notification, local youths residing there will also have opportunities for recruitment in the third and fourth grade posts of the divisional level.

This recruitment will be done through the special Chhattisgarh Junior Staff Selection Board. Earlier, there was a provision for the recruitment of local residents on the third and fourth grade posts of the district cadre of these two divisions, which has now been amended.

It is noteworthy that in the notification issued on September 04, 2019, there was a provision for the recruitment of local residents on the posts of class III and IV of the district cadre only of the scheduled areas, which was later examined and it was decided that the entire area of Bastar and Surguja divisions comes under the Scheduled Area. In such a situation, it would be appropriate to keep the provision of recruitment of local residents on the division level posts of both these divisions.

The Chhattisgarh Junior Staff Selection Board can take the process of selection on various posts available for III and IV grade recruitments under the provisions prescribed in the recruitment rules of the concerned local office/department and the rules/instructions issued by the government from time to time. The appointment of such selected persons will be done by the appointing authority of the concerned department, but the selection on the posts related to Home (Police), Jail and Transport Department under the Home Department will not be done by the said board.
