Ranchi,13th August. Jyotiraditya Scindia has requested him for naming Deoghar Airport as Baba Baidyanath“ Airport In the letter written to the minister, he said that adhering to the public demand of the people of the name of Deoghar airport should be changed to Baba Baidyanath Airport as the city of Deoghar is identified as Baba Baidyanath Dham, and the people of the region strongly feel that the airport must operate under the aegis of Baidyanathv. The Deoghar Airport being built for the benefit of the millions of tourists who visit Deoghar every year to pay offerings to Baba Baidyanath, is important to the development of religious tourism in the state. The Government of Jharkhand recognized this and out of the total cost of around Rs. 850 crores. The state government has contributed more than Rs.600 crores including the cost of providing land towards this project and the demand should be met respecting the views of our people, please name the airport Baba Baidyanath Airport.
The other ministers of his cabinet and the Congress, the main coalition party in the Jharkhand government have also joined in this demand. Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh has said that the name of Deoghar Airport should be Baba Vaidyanath Dham Airport. This proposal comes as a response to the union government changing the name of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award to Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award.
