West Bengal, 20th May. In the midst of the Ashram controversy, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared her support for all institutions while also praising the Ram Krishna Mission on Monday.

She also chastised others for bringing politics into the situation.

Some monks from the two monastic orders were allegedly acting “under instructions of the BJP,” according to accusations made by Banerjee earlier on Saturday. PM Narendra Modi responded forcefully to this, alleging that the Chief Minister of west Bengal was threatening these socio-religious groups and “under pressure from Muslim extremists” in order to “appease” the TMC’s supporters.
“I am not against the Ramakrishna Mission, why should I be against an institution or insult it?” she uttered while speaking at a gathering in Bankuras Onda. According to Mamata, “I have spoken about one or two persons,” as quoted by PTI.

In addition, the chief minister praised Bharat Sevashram Sangha, highlighting its public service. She claimed to have brought up Kartik Maharaj, who forbade the Trinamool Congress agent from using a Rejinagar polling booth.

She claimed that during conflicts between two factions in Rejinagar, the Bharat Sevashram Sangha monk from the Murshidabad area was instigating people and supporting the BJP. She said he should wear the party’s insignia in public if he wanted to support the BJP.
