Jaipur, 13th April.
The Congress party in Rajasthan finds itself grappling with internal turmoil as approximately 400 party workers tendered their resignations from its primary membership on Friday, dealing a significant blow to the organization, according to party sources.

The Congress had entered into an alliance with the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) for the Nagaur Lok Sabha seat and left it vacant for the RLP to contest.

The Nagaur MP and RLP Chief, Hanuman Beniwal, was nominated by the Congress for this seat.

Following allegations of campaigning in favor of BJP candidate Jyoti Mirdha in Nagaur, three Congress workers, including former MLA Bhararam, Kuchera Municipality Chairperson Tejpal Mirdha, and Sukharam Dodwadiya, were suspended for six years on Monday based on a complaint filed by Beniwal.

After the suspension of these Congress leaders, there was uproar among Congress workers in Nagaur, leading to the resignation of the three suspended members.

Tejpal Mirdha held a press conference on Friday, expressing discontent with the alliance formed with the RLP despite Congress’s strong performance in Nagaur during the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls. He accused Hanuman Beniwal of trying to undermine the Congress in Nagaur and claimed that the alliance was imposed without the consent of the local Congress unit.

He criticized the Congress high command for allowing one person to dictate the party’s decisions and warned that the party was self-destructing in Rajasthan. He also mentioned Beniwal’s statement about party workers campaigning for the BJP under the guise of Congress members.

On Monday night, three party workers, including Tejpal Mirdha, were suspended for six years by the Congress. In response, Varun Purohit, another Congress worker, dismissed the allegations as BJP propaganda and claimed that not all people in the crowd were actual Congress members.
