Islamabad, 13th July.
A video by Pakistani YouTuber Hafiz Hasan Iqbal Chishti has ignited widespread backlash on social media for its controversial content, which condemns girls’ education and promotes misogynistic views. Uploaded several weeks ago, the video features Chishti urging parents to withdraw their daughters from school, alleging that education leads to immoral behavior such as dancing, which he claims contradicts Islamic principles.

Titled ‘Apni Dhi Schoolo Hata Le Othy Dance Kardi Payi Ae (Remove your daughter from school she was spotted dancing there)’, the song’s lyrics advocate for confining daughters at home to prevent them from allegedly becoming involved in activities like dancing, which the singer denounces as immoral. The video also includes footage from a dance competition held in a Pakistani school, adding fuel to the controversy.

Since its release, the video has amassed over 200,000 views and received more than 3,000 likes, prompting intense criticism from viewers. Commenters on social media platforms condemned the misogynistic lyrics and expressed dismay over the regressive mindset portrayed in the video. One commenter wrote, “I feel really really bad that Pakistan is still suffering with this type mentality … shame on you and your thinking … and people who are supporting him in comments think about country and your daughters.”

Another user expressed outrage, stating, “How dare he use such low-level language against our sisters … he must be sacked … Moreover, he is using haq haq as background music and uttering obscene words … He must be punished.”

A third commenter highlighted the hypocrisy of targeting women while ignoring men’s education, stating, “I am shocked that how these lyrics are made to attack women. Shame on the people who are supporting it. Why don’t you talk about men who also attend school … THIS IS NOT ISLAM. SHAME ON THEM.”

The video also faced criticism from other YouTubers, including Ex-Muslim Zafar Heretic, who criticized Chishti’s video and pointed out inconsistencies with Islamic teachings, stating, “Let me tell the song creator that music too is Haram in Islam.”
