Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Meets US National Security Advisor in Washington DC

Washington DC, 25th August. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at the White House on August 23, 2024. The meeting focused on the evolving geopolitical landscape, key regional security issues, and the ongoing defence industrial collaboration between India and the United States.

During the visit, Singh and Sullivan discussed potential areas for further collaboration, particularly in the context of defence industrial partnerships. Singh also engaged with senior leaders from the US defence industry at a round-table organized by the US India Strategic Partnership Forum, attended by numerous US defence and technology companies.

Singh emphasized India’s openness to US investment and technology collaboration, highlighting the country’s skilled workforce, favourable pro-FDI and pro-business environment, and substantial domestic market. He reiterated India’s commitment to working closely with the US in defence to enhance capability building and establish a long-term technology and industrial partnership to address emerging global challenges.

Additionally, Singh had a brief meeting with a delegation from the US India Business Council, further strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two nations.
