Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Visit US from Aug 23-26 to Strengthen Strategic Ties

New Delhi, 21st August. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to embark on a four-day visit to the United States starting Friday to enhance the comprehensive global strategic partnership between the two nations.

During his visit to Washington, Singh will engage in talks with key US officials, including Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. Among the critical issues expected to be discussed are India’s plans to procure 31 MQ-9B Predator drones, the proposed joint manufacturing of Stryker infantry combat vehicles, and the co-production of GE F414 engines in India, according to officials on Tuesday.

Announcing Singh’s visit, the Defence Ministry stated, “The visit is expected to further deepen and broaden the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.” The trip is scheduled from August 23 to 26 and comes amid increasing momentum in India-US relations and defence engagements at multiple levels.

In addition to high-level discussions, Singh will chair a roundtable meeting with representatives from the US defense industry to explore ongoing and future collaborations. He is also expected to interact with the Indian community during his visit.
