DGCA Mandates Airlines to Seat Children Below 12 with Parents or Guardians

New Delhi, 23rd April.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a directive to all airlines, instructing them to ensure that children aged up to 12 years are seated alongside at least one of their parents or guardians during flights.

This directive follows reports of instances where children below the age of 13 were not seated with their parents or guardians while traveling.

“Airlines must ensure that children up to the age of 12 are assigned seats with at least one of their parents or guardians, provided they are traveling on the same Passenger Name Record (PNR). A record of this arrangement must be maintained,” stated the DGCA in a statement released today.
