In a scathing attack, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) mouthpiece “Murasoli” has lambasted Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, alleging that he perceives himself as a “King” and is tarnishing the state’s reputation through his actions.

The criticism from Murasoli comes in the wake of the Governor’s conduct during his customary address in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. The mouthpiece, in its column, questioned the Governor’s unwillingness to adapt, stating, “Does the Governor won’t change?”

Murasoli further expressed dismay over the Governor’s decision to express dissent during the Assembly session, suggesting that such matters could have been addressed from Raj Bhavan itself. The mouthpiece accused Ravi of exhibiting an attitude akin to royalty, emphasizing that any statements deemed unacceptable by the Legislative Assembly would be expunged from records, undermining the integrity of his position.

“The governor is repeating the same mistake again and again,” Murasoli declared, urging Ravi to refrain from engaging in politics from Raj Bhavan. The publication went on to suggest that if the Governor wished to partake in political activities, he should relocate to Saidapet and rent a home for the purpose.

Moreover, Murasoli asserted that Ravi’s actions were detrimental to Tamil Nadu’s reputation and its people. The mouthpiece placed blame not only on the Governor but also on the Union Government, alleging instigation of Ravi’s behavior and demanding accountability for such actions.

This latest rebuke from Murasoli follows previous allegations made in December, where the publication accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of utilizing the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to besmirch the DMK government’s reputation. In an editorial, Murasoli had questioned the basis of the ED’s claims regarding corruption in sand mining, challenging the accuracy of the alleged ₹4730 crore corruption figure and accusing the BJP of fabricating evidence to support its allegations.

The ongoing friction between the DMK and the Governor’s office shows the deepening political tensions within Tamil Nadu, with Murasoli emerging as a vocal critic of perceived injustices and misconduct within the state’s governance.
