Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan National Excellence Award 2023 Ceremony to be Held in Delhi on Nov 29

New Delhi, 6th Nov. Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan Foundation has announced the six prestigious national awards in various fields for their exceptional contribution to our national life. The award is for the year 2023.
Each award will carry a cash award of Rs. One lakh and a Memento and Citation in bronze.
Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan Foundation in an official statement said, “We have received nearly 1000 entries from all over the country in different languages in all five categories put together. Our team of experts went through all entries and selected six persons / institutions for receiving the Excellence awards.”
This a special award will be presented in the category of Web Media as it is one of the most active and growing in the field of journalism.
Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan National Excellence Award 2023 will be conferred to:
- Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan National Award for Excellence in Journalism 2023 is being awarded to Mr Johny Lukose, Director News, Manorama TV, Kochi, who made a mark as a skillful writer, editor and reporting in his two-decade long career. He has brought in lot of new ideas in the visual media and ranked Malayala Manorama TV as one of the leading news channels in the country.
- For his contribution in the field of Art and Culture Shri M. G. Sreekumar, Leading Playback Singer of South India, Renowned musician and promoter of Carnatic Music, is being awarded the national excellence award in the field of art, culture and literature.
- Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan National Award for Excellence in Science Reporting & contribution to National Political discourse in the category of research and Science, and technology 2023 is being awarded to Shri Ashok Shrivastav, Senior Consulting Editor & Anchor, Doordarshan Delhi.
- Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan National Award for Excellence in Art and Culture 2023 is being conferred to Mr. P. V. Madanamohanan Art Editor, Mathrubhumi daily, Kozhikode.
- Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan National Award 2023 for Excellence in Exposing malpractices and fighting for truth is being awarded to Mr Shajan Skariah, Founder and Editor in of the Web Media Marunadan Malayalee for his investigative expose of medical malpractices & fearless crusade against corruption in high places. His bold and courageous innovation in promoting new media journalism against all odds and government repression is highly appreciated. He has survived a series of false cases filed by the CPM government in Kerala as part of its political vendetta.
- Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan National Award for Excellence in the field of Social Service named as “Shri Dattopant Thengadi Seva Samman 2023” is being conferred on Swami Chaitanyananda Swami Maduranand, Vellimalai Sri Vivekananda Ashram, Kalapadi, Tamil Nadu for his pioneering social work, promoting education & rural health in Kanya Kumari and all over the state.
This is the 5 th year of the National Award being given by the Foundation. The Foundation is also giving a monthly pension of Rs. 2000/- each to 51 families in Kerala who are victims of political violence.
This project called Sarvamangalam was launched on October 12, 2022 by Shri Arif Mohammad Khan, Governor of Kerala at a grand function at Trivandrum.
The annual National Excellence Award ceremony of Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan Foundation will be held on November 29th, 2023, at Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts, Mandi House, New Delhi, 110001 at 05:00 PM.
