New Delhi, 15th April.
The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) in collaboration with the Indian Army has achieved a significant milestone with the successful trials of the Man Portable Anti-tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) Weapon System.

Developed indigenously, the MPATGM system underwent rigorous field evaluations, including multiple missile firing trials, to demonstrate its technological prowess and operational superiority.

The trials, conducted at the Pokhran Field Firing Range, Rajasthan, showcased exceptional performance of the MPATGM system, including remarkable missile and warhead capabilities.

The Tandem Warhead System successfully completed penetration trials, affirming its capability to defeat modern armour protected Main Battle Tanks.

Equipped with day/night and top attack capabilities, along with a dual-mode seeker functionality, the MPATGM system promises enhanced efficacy in tank warfare scenarios.

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh praised the collaborative efforts of DRDO and the Indian Army, hailing the successful trials as a pivotal stride towards achieving self-reliance in advanced defence technology.

Dr. Samir V Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO, also extended congratulations to the teams involved in the trials, marking the culmination of technology development and paving the way for Final User Evaluation Trials prior to the system’s induction into the Indian Army.
