DTC Bus Hits Signage Pole in West Delhi, Nearly 20 Injured: Police

A Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus on Thursday crashed into a signage pole on the divider in the Rajouri Garden area of West Delhi, injuring at least 18 people, including the driver and conductor, according to police. Three of the injured are in critical condition.

Police received a call around 11:40 am reporting the accident involving a bus that operates between Sarai Kale Khan and Nangloi. The injured individuals were rescued by a team of police, fire department, and locals who took them to nearby hospitals.

Of the 18 injured, 15 were taken to ESIC Hospital at Basai Darapur and 3 to DDU Hospital. An FIR has been filed at the Rajouri Garden police station, and a crime investigation team was called to the scene for further inspection.

The cause of the accident will be determined based on the crime team’s report and a mechanical inspection of the bus, stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Vichitra Veer.
