New Delhi, 25th May.
The Election Commission has directed Chief Electoral Officers and state authorities to implement adequate measures to manage the adverse impacts of hot weather or rainfall predicted during the sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls.

Polling is scheduled for Saturday in 58 parliamentary constituencies (PCs) across eight states and union territories, including Haryana and the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Other states and UTs involved in this phase are Bihar, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. Simultaneously, elections for 42 assembly constituencies in the Odisha State Legislative Assembly will also be held.

The Election Commission has ensured that polling stations are prepared to welcome voters with necessary amenities such as ample shade, drinking water, ramps, toilets, and other basic facilities to provide a comfortable and secure voting environment. Polling parties have been dispatched with all necessary machines and poll materials to their respective stations.

In a call to action, the Commission has urged voters to turn out in large numbers and vote with responsibility and pride. “Voters of PCs in urban centres like Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad are specially reminded about their right and duty to vote and break the trend of urban apathy,” the Election Commission said in a release.

The poll panel’s efforts reflect a commitment to ensuring a smooth electoral process despite potential weather challenges, encouraging maximum voter participation across all regions.
