Hyderabad, 13th Dec.
The Election Commission (EC) has lifted the suspension of Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar after the officer tendered an unequivocal apology, according to sources.

Kumar was suspended on December 3 for presenting a bouquet to state Congress head (now chief minister) A Revanth Reddy while the counting process was still ongoing.

The EC stated that he breached the model code as well as service behavior norms and set a terrible precedent for junior officers. According to insiders, the state administration asked the EC to lift Kumar’s suspension because he had offered an unequivocal apology and accepted responsibility for his mistake.

According to them, the Telangana government will give a warning to the top cop and will not assign him any election-related duties in the future.
